Minister of Finance and Economy, Arben Ahmetaj and the Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation, Hans-Jürgen Cassens signed a cooperation agreement on the implementation of the project “Migration Advisory”, a project that is part of the Global Program “Migration for Development” (PME), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The objective of this project is the fight against irregular migration by providing information on legitimate labor migration routes and by informing about vocational education and training as well as the prospects of the labor market in Germany and Albania.

The program foresees that the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany will provide GIZ up to 1.5m euros for the German contribution. This project aims to provide migrant advice on legitimate labor migration, vocational education and training, as well as job prospects in Germany and Albania; publication of immigration information in Germany and the rules of access to the German labor market for third-country nationals; capacity building of NES Migration Offices in terms of information on migration channels for employment; drafting a Public Relations Strategy for NES Migration Counters; drafting a Strategic Document for the Ministry of Finance and Economy for policy-making for employment-oriented migration, etc.

From the implementation of this project, up to 30 November 2020, it is intended that 2000 people will be consulted each year on migration and employment at counseling centers.
